Our Ethical Factory
Since 2006, Diane has nurtured strong, long-standing relationships with our suppliers. We’re especially proud that most of our products are made in a small countryside factory in China—one that values people above profit.
James manages the factory, and over the years we’ve developed a truly special working relationship built on mutual respect, shared values, and a focus on family. As both our businesses have grown, so has our friendship.
James’s sister leads the team of machinists with care and skill, and their father is at the factory every day, lovingly preparing lunch for the entire team. It’s a family operation in the truest sense.
Workers are paid by the hour for the time they dedicate to their craft—not by the piece—which means they are compensated fairly and not rushed. This approach allows for exceptional quality and fosters a supportive environment where colleagues can chat and have a laugh.
Because the factory is based in a rural community, the women who work there are able to return home to their families each evening—a basic human right, not afforded to the many factory workers in large city-based facilities, who often see their families only during long holidays.
To ensure ethical and responsible practices throughout our supply chain, we’ve developed a comprehensive Supplier Code of Conduct. It addresses critical issues such as forced labour, child labour, workplace safety, and diversity. We invite you to learn more by reviewing our Supplier Code of Conduct.
