What size of Brolly Sheet should I buy?

A king single is our most popular size as it fits a toddler bed (just wrap around or use head to toe), a single bed and a king single bed.  Because we have so many sizes, it is easy to choose the one to best fit your bed.

Can I use a Brolly Sheet, mattress protector of fitted sheet with an electric blanket?

Our products can be safely used with an electric blanket, provided the blanket is washable. However, electric blankets are not designed to be left on while sleeping. They should be turned off once you are in bed.

As our products are waterproof, we advise against exposing them to high heat, as this can damage the waterproof backing. We recommend setting the electric blanket to a moderate temperature, to take the chill off the bed. Then once the blanket has been on for about 20 minutes to turn the blanket off at the control.

What is the Difference between Day and Night Trainers?

When parents start the potty training journey, they’re usually on the lookout for something to help make the move from nappies to undies a bit easier. That’s where day and night training pants come in—they’re a great in-between option, each designed for different needs during the day and night. Knowing the difference between the two can make potty training a whole lot smoother (and less stressful) for everyone.

One thing to keep in mind: cloth training pants won’t hold as much wee as disposable nappies. They’re not meant to replace a fully soaked nappy. But the upside? They let kids actually feel the wetness, which helps them learn when they need to go.

At Brolly Sheets, we’ve created our own range of training pants under the Snazzi Pants brand. They're made from soft, breathable cotton with a bit of elastane for a comfy fit that keeps its shape. Plus, they’re easy for little ones to pull up and down - perfect for practicing independence and dressing skills.

Here’s a quick breakdown of what sets day and night training pants apart:

Absorbency – Night pants hold more than day ones

Fit – Night trainers come in gender-specific styles as generally the kids are older.

Sizes – Night pants come in a wider size range

Even though day and night pants serve different roles, both are super helpful for building your child’s confidence and supporting them on their journey to staying dry.

What is the Difference between a Brolly Sheet, Mattress Protector and Waterproof Sheet?

A Brolly Sheet can hold up to around 2 litres of liquid and is designed to cover the middle section of the mattress—right where it’s needed most. It goes over the top of the fitted sheet, which makes nighttime accidents way easier to deal with. Just whip it off and pop a clean one on—no need to strip the whole bed in the middle of the night!  Great for adults or kids.

If your child tends to move around a lot in their sleep, we recommend going one size up. That gives you a bit more fabric to tuck under the mattress and helps keep it in place.

For extra protection, you can use a waterproof mattress protector underneath the Brolly Sheet. That way, if your toddler 'misses' the Brolly Sheet during the night, the mattress is still safe.

The waterproof fitted mattress protector goes under the fitted sheet and covers the whole mattress. It’s great for leaks, night sweats or just everyday sweat, shed skin cells etc.  The team at Brolly Sheets have them on all their beds to keep their mattress fresh.   While it won’t absorb 2 litres, it acts as a barrier to stop moisture from soaking through to the mattress.

The waterproof sheet is the same in its function as the mattress protector - waterproof and not able to absorb moisture.  It is two layers of cotton with a waterproof membrane, so very soft and comfortable.

A flat sheet can help protect upper layers from getting wet, while a waterproof fitted sheet adds an extra layer of protection over the mattress. The fitted sheet can be used with the Brolly Sheet and is helpful particularly in the case of the elderly who may need to sit on the side of the bed before getting up and may wet the mattress, as the sides are also waterproof.  A fitted sheet can be used as a sheet or mattress protector.

General

At what age do I start toilet training?

First of all, day becomes before night training.  You don’t do them both at once.

When it comes to potty training, like walking, talking, and sleeping soundly all night long there is no set time or age that it best for everyone and every child’s timing is different.

Girls commonly start showing interest around two years old or two and a half years, while boys tend to show interest in potty training a bit later. But there are always exceptions!

Night training is a bite later. A round four, four and a half years.  Again, every child is different.

Why is my child wetting the bed?

If you’re a parent struggling with bed wetting, we have a range of products to support you and your little ones get through this stage of life. For general advice on bedwetting, you can find advice in our blogs here

Please note, bedwetting that begins suddenly or happens with other symptoms can be a sign of another medical condition, so we recommend talking with a medical professional.
