Thinking about switching to cloth nappies but not ready to commit to a full stash? That's exactly what this pack is for.

The Snazzi Pants Trial Nappy Pack gives you 3 nappies and a Brolly Medium Wet Bag — everything you need to genuinely test cloth nappies in your daily routine — at more than half the price of buying them individually. No huge upfront outlay, no guesswork about whether they'll work for your baby.

Choose the style that suits how you want to use them: the All-in-One if you want something as close to a disposable as possible, or the Pocket Nappy if faster drying is a priority. Both use the same one-size fit system, the same bamboo/cotton absorbency, and the same velcro waist closure with snap rise adjustment that fits from 4kg all the way to 18kg.

Which pack is right for you?

Not sure? The All-in-One is the better starting point for most parents trialling cloth for the first time — nothing to learn, nothing to prepare, works just like a disposable. The Pocket Nappy is worth choosing if you know you'll be washing frequently and want faster turnaround between washes.

About the All-in-One Nappy

The absorbent pad is permanently sewn inside — pick it up, put it on, done. No stuffing inserts, no separate covers, no prep. The trade-off is slightly longer drying time, since the pad is enclosed inside the shell. Line drying in the sun is ideal and naturally freshens the nappy.

The waterproof outer shell is breathable PUL — waterproof but not stuffy. The inner lining is stay-dry suede cloth that wicks moisture away from your baby's skin. The absorbent pad is 70% bamboo, 30% cotton — soft, thirsty, and long-lasting.

About the Pocket Nappy

The nappy has a pocket in the inner lining — you slide the included bamboo/cotton pads into the pocket before each use. More hands-on than the all-in-one, but the pads come out before washing, which means the shell and pads dry separately and much faster. Each pocket nappy comes with two pads — use one for lighter days, both for heavy wetters or longer stretches.

Same breathable PUL outer shell, same stay-dry inner lining, same bamboo/cotton pads as the AIO — just a different way of getting them into the nappy.

The fit system — works the same on both styles

  • Velcro waist closure — precise, easy to adjust, quick to fasten. Works for grandparents and childcare workers too.
  • Fold-back laundry tabs — the velcro folds onto laundry tabs before washing so it doesn't snag on other items in the machine.
  • Snap rise adjustment — rows of snaps along the front panel shorten or lengthen the nappy body. Snap up for a smaller baby, leave unsnapped as your baby grows. This is what makes one nappy fit from 4kg to 18kg.

About the Brolly Medium Wet Bag

A waterproof zip bag for storing used nappies when you're out of the house. Pop used nappies straight in, zip it shut, and nothing leaks or smells until you get home. Washable — just throw it in with the nappy wash.

Key Features — both packs
  • One size fits 4kg to 18kg — grows with your baby from newborn to toddler
  • 70% bamboo, 30% cotton absorbent layer — soft, highly absorbent, naturally gentle
  • Breathable PUL outer shell — waterproof without the sweaty plastic feel
  • Soft suede cloth inner lining
  • Velcro waist closure with fold-back laundry tabs
  • Snap rise adjustment — fits as your baby grows
  • Machine washable — warm or cold cycle, no fabric softener
  • Reusable — saves hundreds of disposable nappies going to landfill
  • Includes Brolly Medium Wet Bag for storing used nappies on the go
Care & Wash Instructions

Before first use — both styles

Wash 3 times before use. The bamboo/cotton pads need several washes to reach their full absorbency potential. This is the most common reason for early leaks — skipping this step, not a faulty nappy. Three washes sorts it.

After each use

  1. Fold the velcro tabs back onto the laundry tabs.
  2. Pocket Nappy: remove pads from the pocket before washing.
  3. Shake any solids into the toilet. Use a washable liner or a disposable liner — put disposable liners in the bin, not the toilet, to avoid sewer blockages.
  4. Store in a dry bucket or the Brolly large Wet Bag until wash day. Do not soak.

Washing

  1. Warm or cold machine wash. No boil washing — damages the PUL shell and elastics.
  2. Standard detergent. No fabric softener — reduces absorbency over time.
  3. Line dry or tumble on low. All-in-Ones take longer to dry than Pocket Nappies — factor this in. Line drying in sun is best.

Care summary

  • Wash 3 times before first use
  • Warm or cold machine wash
  • Pocket Nappy: remove pads before washing
  • Fold velcro onto laundry tabs before washing
  • No fabric softener
  • No soaking
  • No high heat — damages PUL and elastics
  • Line dry where possible, or low tumble dry
  • Disposable liners in the bin — not the toilet
FAQs

Why 3 nappies — is that enough to trial with?

Three nappies is enough to get a genuine feel for how cloth works in your routine without committing to a full stash. You'll be able to do a couple of changes, see how the fit works for your baby, and get comfortable with washing before deciding whether to add more. Most parents know within a week whether cloth is going to work for them.

Can I mix styles — some AIO and some pocket?

The trial packs are sold as a single style — all AIO or all Pocket. But once you've trialled and want to build your stash, you can absolutely mix styles. Many families use both — AIOs for childcare and shared care, pocket nappies at home for faster drying.

What nappy colours will I receive?

You choose! After selecting your pack style (All-in-One or Pocket Nappy), you'll pick the colour for each of your 3 nappies individually, plus the colour for your Brolly Medium Wet Bag. That means you're never left wondering what's turning up in the box — you pick every colour yourself.

Does it really fit from 4kg to 18kg?

Yes. The snap rise adjustment changes the length of the nappy body, and the velcro waist adjusts the fit around the waist independently. Together these give a genuinely wide fit range from a few months old through to toddlerhood.

Do I need anything else to get started?

The pack includes everything for the nappy changes themselves. You'll also want a dry bucket or a Brolly Large Wet Bag for home storage between washes (the Brolly Medium Wet Bag in the pack is great for when you're out), and a supply of washable or disposable liners to make solid clean-up easier. A good cloth-safe detergent is all you need for washing.

Why do I need to wash 3 times before use?

Bamboo fibres are compressed when new. A few washes open them up to their full absorbency. Brand new out of the pack, the pads won't absorb as well as they will after washing — this is normal, not a fault. Three washes and they're working at full capacity.

How long will they last?

With proper care — no fabric softener, no high heat, no soaking — Snazzi Pants nappies are built to last.

If I love them, how many do I need for full-time cloth?

Around 20–24 nappies allows for washing every second day with drying time factored in. If you're mixing cloth and disposable, 10–15 is usually comfortable. Your trial pack gives you a solid foundation to start from.

About the Brand

Snazzi Pants is part of the Brolly Sheets family — a Kiwi brand founded by Diane, a mum who designed the products she couldn't find anywhere else. Since 2006, we've been making washable, waterproof products that replace disposables — not because it's a trend, but because they work better, cost less over time, and put less in landfill.

The Snazzi Pants name has been part of Kiwi cloth nappy history since 2003. The trial pack exists because we know the hardest part of switching to cloth is taking the first step — and we wanted to make that step as easy as possible.
