Whether it's your period, a light bladder leak, or just that 'just in case' feeling — these are the underwear you reach for.
Brolly Women's Light Absorbent Underwear look and feel like your regular everyday underwear, with a discreet built-in absorbent layer that holds up to 100ml. No bulk, no crinkling, no plastic. Just quiet confidence — all day long.
Available in two styles — a midi brief for everyday coverage or a high waist for extra support — in beige or black, from Small through to 3XL.
Designed for women who experience any of the following:
• Periods — light through to heavy (heavy periods average only 40ml, so 100ml covers you)
• Light bladder leaks from sneezing, coughing, laughing, or exercise
• Post-partum recovery — when things are still settling after birth
• Perimenopause and menopause — when bladder control becomes unpredictable
• Everyday peace of mind — for women who just want to feel secure
These hold up to 100ml. To put that in perspective:
• A heavy period produces around 40ml — these cover that with room to spare
• A light period produces around 10–20ml
• A light bladder leak from a sneeze or cough is typically 5–15ml
Most women are surprised by how little they actually bleed. 100ml is genuinely enough for your heaviest period day, not just the light ones.
Midi Brief
A classic brief cut that sits at the hip. Smooth under clothing, comfortable for all-day wear. Ideal for everyday use and warmer months.
High Waist
Higher rise for extra coverage and a smoothing fit around the tummy. Great for post-surgery recovery, post-partum, or if you simply prefer more coverage. Sits comfortably without digging in.
Layer Composition Purpose
Main body 95% Cotton, 5% Elastane Soft, breathable, moves with your body
Absorbent pad 80% Polyester, 20% Nylon microfibre towelling Pulls moisture in and holds it securely
Inner wicking layer Birdseye fabric Draws fluid away from skin so you feel dry
Waterproof layer 100% Polyester TPU Locks everything in — nothing gets through to clothing
Four layers, working together. Feels like regular underwear. Performs like proper protection.
Washing after your period
Simple to care for — just a couple of steps will keep them performing well for years.
1. Rinse in cold water first. Cold water lifts blood before it sets. Hot water does the opposite and locks stains in. A quick 30-second cold rinse in the sink or shower before the wash is all it takes.
2. Machine wash on a cold or warm cycle with your regular detergent. Wash with like colours.
3. Do not use fabric softener. Softener coats the fibres and reduces absorbency over time. Skip it entirely.
4. Line dry or tumble on low heat. High heat can damage the waterproof and absorbent layers. Line drying is best and extends the life of the product.
One pair easily handles a full day's wear on a light-to-moderate period day. Most women keep 3–5 pairs in rotation so there's always a clean pair ready.
Washing for bladder leaks
Same process — rinse in cold water after wear, machine wash cold or warm, skip the fabric softener, and line dry. The absorbent layer stays effective wash after wash when cared for properly.
Care label summary

Can I use these as my only period protection?
On light-to-moderate days, yes — many women do. On your heaviest days, they hold up to 100ml which covers the average heavy period (around 40ml). They also work well as backup to a menstrual cup or tampon on particularly heavy days.
What's the difference between these and disposable pads?
No plastic backing, no rustling, no wings to fiddle with. These move with your body and stay in place. Once you switch, most women don't go back.
Can I wear these for light bladder leaks too?
Yes — the same absorbent layer that handles period flow works just as well for the leaks that happen when you sneeze, cough, laugh, or exercise. Same underwear, same protection, different reason to love them.
How many pairs do I need?
For period use, 3–5 pairs gets most women through a cycle comfortably. For everyday bladder leak protection, 2–3 pairs in rotation is usually enough.
Do they smell?
No. The absorbent layer manages odour as well as moisture. A cold rinse after wear keeps everything fresh until wash day.
How long do they last?
With proper care — cold rinse, no fabric softener, line dry — these are built to last for years. We back them with a 6 month warranty from date of purchase.
Are these good for post-partum recovery?
The high waist style works particularly well post-partum. It's gentle on a healing tummy, supportive around the belly, and handles post-partum discharge comfortably on lighter recovery days.
What's the difference between the midi brief and the high waist?
The midi brief sits at hip height — it's the classic everyday cut, comfortable and smooth under clothing. The high waist rises higher for more coverage and a smoothing fit around the tummy. Both offer the same absorbency; it's purely about fit preference.
Will they show under clothing?
No. There's no bulk or padding that adds volume under clothing. Beige works under light colours; black under dark colours or on its own.
